Elbow Falls

Kananaskis Country

These picturesque falls are not the largest in the province, but they’re certainly one of the easiest to visit. The area was hit hard by the 2013 flood waters, and up stream is quite exposed now. However, this makes for more river’s edge exploration. Downstream, there is a narrow trail away from the falls and around the first bend which leads to some interesting canyon walls and rapids. This downstream trail is not for the painter looking for an easy setup however, but for the adventurous, there are many places to setup and capture the rugged beauty of the Bow River.
